Lagu cipt. Ennio Morricone itu aslinya sebuah soundtrack dalam film The Mission (1986), judul tracknya "Gabriel's Oboe". Karena melodinya yg indah dan kuat, Gabriel's Oboe ini kemudian menjadi terkenal dan masuk dalam jajaran lagu2 klasik. Setelah bertahun2 populer musiknya tanpa lirik, tahun 90-an Sarah Brightman menulis surat pada Ennio Morricone bahwa dia sangat ingin menyanyikan lagu tsb. Katanya tiap 2 bulan dia kirim surat permohonan sama Morricone baru setelah 3 tahun dapat jawaban yang akhirnya lagu itu dikasih lirik jadi "Nella Fantasia" yg lalu dinyanyikan pertama kali oleh Sarah Brightman (1998). Belakangan lagu ini dibawakan juga oleh Russell Watson, kemudian Il Divo. Semuanya gw suka, tapi yg paling pas sama gw versinya Russell Watson.
Setelah suksesnya "Nella Fantasia" ini, lalu ada beberapa lagi musik sountrack film cipt. Morricone lainnya yg kemudian dikasih lirik dan jadi terkenal dinyanyikan Josh Groban, seperti lagu "Se" (love theme-nya film Cinema Paradiso), lalu sountracknya film Malena yg setelah dikasih lirik oleh Linda Thomson jadi "You're Still You".
