FMQB “Paranoid” last yeat that a supposedly new version of the track “Paranoid” by Kanye West featuring Rihanna, was going to be available for airplay today, January 20th. Looks like the single was cancelled or something, they removed the song from their site. We still don’t know why this happened. Hopefully we’ll have more news about this soon.

Pas Youth wants boycott of Rihanna concert

Kuala Lumur, Jan 20 - Pas Youth has today called for a boycott of Rihanna’s February 13 concert to protest against the offensive and suffering of the Palestinian people.

Kamaruzaman Mohamed, Federal Territory Pas Youth chief, said that the concert is not in keeping with the local culture and Rihanna in Malaysia would disgrace to Asian culture. In a statement today, Kamaruzaman said that Israel was is funded by the American public and this included Rihanna who lives in California. He said that this could be construed as supporting Israel’s offensive in the Gaza.

“It doesn’t matter if Rihanna is involved in the issue, but to us, she is an agent of polluting young peoples’ minds around the world through her songs.”

He also added that the campaign of boycotting US products that included their artistes must go on.

Abdul: ‘I’ve Influenced Rihanna & Beyonce’

Paula Abdul believes she has been heavy influence on pop stars like Beyonce and Rihanna. The American Idol judge, 46, says the the former Destiny’s Child star and the Umbrella hitmaker owe a lot to her days as a pop star and her duet with a cartoon cat in the video for hit song Opposites Attract. She says,

“My videos stand the test of time. “They are like the almanac for every performer. Even Rihanna has come up to me and said ‘I hope you don’t mind.’ And Beyonce. You can see the influence of what I’ve done.
“It’s really fun to see that I’ve left a mark. It was my idea to create an animated character. It takes a lot of focus, a lot time, and a lot of money.”

January 23, 2009 Government Approves Rihanna Concert

The government has approved the Rihanna Concert, scheduled for Feb 13 at Stadium Putra in Bukit Jalil, despite the Federal Territory PAS Youth’s objection to it.

Unity, Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal said: “They (PAS Youth) can always protest, but the ministry has the final say.”

He said what was important was that the organiser had fulfilled all the conditions set by the ministry.

“Our main concern is whether the concert is in line with Malaysian culture, but as the entertainment industry is a very dynamic and creative industry, we must allow our people to have access to it,” he told reporters after launching the Chinese New Year celebration at the Central Market here today.

Last Tuesday, Federal Territory PAS Youth expressed its disappointment over the organising of the ‘Rihanna Live in Kuala Lumpur’ concert by a local company.

Rihanna set to perform in Jakarta next month

Rihanna’s Indonesian fans will soon have a remedy for their disappointment over the diva’s canceled concert two months ago, as the US pop singer jets in on Feb. 12 to entertain them. Event promoter Troy Reza Warokka said Tuesday that Rihanna had confirmed the final date of the show and was committed to rocking 5000 of her fans at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta.

“The concert is the most-awaited show in the country, so we hope we don’t disappoint anyone this time around,” said Troy, the representative for the concert from Showmaster Live.

In November last year, the 21-year-old Grammy-award winning singer canceled her concert over security fears after the Australian government issued a travel warning for Indonesia following the executions of the three Bali bombers.

“The travel warning was lifted and there’s nothing to fear anymore. We’re optimistic we can bring Rihanna this time,” Troy said. “Many fans refused to have their tickets refunded last time because they still believed Rihanna would come, so we would like to thank them for waiting patiently.”

Troy said his team had faced difficulties rescheduling Rihanna’s show in Jakarta because they had to compete with promoters from other countries to be included on Rihanna’s waiting list.

He added Rihanna would perform for 90 minutes in Jakarta, with her management requesting it be an exclusive solo concert. This, Troy said, meant the promoter was not allowed to invite local singers as opening acts.

“The concept of the concert will be just the same as what we previously planned, including preparing a `hydraulic stage’,” said another promoter, Willy Hidayat, who added Rihanna would still bring about 40 dancers to accompany her.

What made this different from the November plan, Willy said, were ticket prices. For the February concert, the lowest ticket price for Festival class is set at Rp 1.25 million (US$ 112) each, higher than November’s Rp 750,000. The prices for the Tribune and VIP classes remain unchanged from last years, Rp 2 million and Rp 2.5 million, respectively.

The promoter said the global financial crisis was the reason for the price increase.

“We’re sorry for the increase, but we have to adjust to the current financial situation. But we believe the prices are still reasonable,” Willy said. “What we can say is, we promise everyone a spectacular show with such prices.”

He added tickets would go on sale this week.

Troy said his team had completed about 60 percent of the preparations for the concert.

He also said his team had already talked to Rihanna’s management on Indonesian culture, as stage outfits could become a concern for some religious groups. Troy acknowledged that a parliamentary group in Malaysia had opposed Rihanna’s show following her sensual stage performance and wardrobes.

“We have coordinated with our Malaysian counterparts on this, as well as with Rihanna’s management. So far, the management has shown good understanding of our proposal,” Troy said.

After rocking her Indonesian fans, Rihanna is scheduled to perform in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 13.

February 8, 2009 FOX News: LAPD Investigating Domestic Abuse Report Against Chris Brown

Los Angeles police confirm they are investigating a domestic abuse complaint against Grammy nominated star Chris Brown. My sources say the unnamed female in the complaint is superstar Rihanna.
According to the police report, the LAPD arrived at the scene after receiving a 911 call reporting the disturbance. A woman with visible injuries identified Chris Brown as her attacker. The victim said they were arguing in the car, which escalated when they stopped.

Brown had already left the scene when authorities arrived.

Insiders confirm that some kind of incident took place in Hancock Park last night after the couple left the pre-Grammy gala at the Beverly Hilton. Same insiders say they are shocked and that “Chris is a good kid, well brought up.”

February 9, 2009 Rihanna Alleged Victim — Deadly Weapon Charge

TMZ has confirmed Rihanna is the named alleged victim in the Chris Brown case and the allegation is that she was assaulted with a deadly weapon. Law enforcement sources tell us the crime report calls the incident assault with a deadly weapon — we do not yet know the nature of the weapon. The crime report gives the victim’s name as Robyn Fenty — that’s Rihanna’s real name.

Law enforcement sources tell us even though the police report in the Chris Brown arrest refers to assault with a deadly weapon, there was no weapon involved in the alleged attack. The police report cites Penal Code Section 245 — Assault with a Deadly Weapon. However, we’re told there was no weapon involved. We had been hearing there was an umbrella in the car — which would have been the most ironic thing ever — but again… no weapon is alleged. One law enforcement source who has been dead on so far claims Rihanna suffered contusions and bite marks.

Rihanna Leaves the Hospital, Postpones Concert

Rihanna is taking a timeout.

In serious need of some R&R, the 20-year-old artist has opted to postpone a sold-out concert scheduled for Friday in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, a spokesman for show organizer Pineapple Concerts confirms to E! News.

"In light of recent events involving Rihanna, [William Morris Agency] will confirm within two weeks from now on a replacement date to be mutually agreed" upon by the organizer and the singer's camp, Pineapple managing director Razman Razali said in a statement.

"We sincerely regret this unavoidable shift in schedule and apologize to the fans for any inconvenience caused."

In the meantime, Rihanna has been discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, having been escorted out a back exit of the hospital some time during the night. "They used a decoy to throw off the media," a source close to the investigation into what went down between Rihanna and Chris Brown early Sunday morning tells E! News.

The source says that Rihanna has been reluctant to reveal to investigators specifically what the couple had been arguing about before it turned physical, but the Los Angeles Times is reporting that the Barbados-born singer is cooperating with the authorities' investigation.

Brown's recently acquired defense attorney, Mark Geragos, couldn't immediately be reached for comment, but the 19-year-old R&B star was booked yesterday on suspicion of making criminal threats * in which a victim "is in fear for [his/her] life." The L.A. District Attorney's Office has yet to receive the case for review, upon which they will determine whether to press charges.

Neither Rihanna nor Brown's whereabouts are known at this time, although Brown was spotted arriving at the London hotel in West Hollywood after being released from custody on $50,000 bail last night.

Jakarta - Pihak sponsor konser Rihanna, Axis, mengumumkan secara resmi soal batalnya konser pelantun 'Umbrella' itu. Para penggemar Rihanna kini terpaksa gigit jari untuk kedua kalinya.

"AXIS dengan sangat menyesal mengumumkan bahwa untuk kedua kalinya Rihanna Live in Concert yang sudah sangat ditunggu-tunggu dan semula dijadwalkan akan digelar pada Kamis 12 Februari 2009, dibatalkan," demikian pernyataan resmi dari Axis seperti yang diterima detikhot melalui email, Selasa (10/2/2009) .

Seperti sudah diduga, Rihanna batal menggoyang Jakarta karena kasus yang menimpanya. Seperti diketahui ia saat ini diduga menjadi korban kekerasan kekasihnya, Chris Brown.

Sementara itu pihak promotor konser Rihanna di Jakarta, ShowMaster, belum mengeluarkan pernyataan resmi seputar pembatalan tersebut. Namun pada pukul 19.00 WIB akan digelar jumpa pers oleh ShowMaster.

Rihanna sebelumnya juga membatalkan konsernya di ibukota pada 14 November 2008. Saat itu alasannya urung datang ke Jakarta karena ia menganggap kondisi keamanan ibukota yang kurang kondusif.

Bagi mereka yang telah membeli tiket konser Rihanna, tak usah khawatir. Uang pembelian tiket tersebut akan dikembalikan melalui ticket box masing-masing. Sedangkan untuk pelanggan Axis, pengembalian tiket mulai bisa dilakukan pada 11 Januari pukul 15.00 WIB, di Axis Center

Chris Brown Arrested -- Caught On Tape

Chris Brown has officially been booked into the custody of the Los Angeles Police Department. He was driven to the station by high-powered attorney Mark Geragos.

Brown has been charged with one count felony criminal threats. His bail has been set at $50,000. He is still being investigated for a possible battery.

Geragos' past clients include Michael Jackson, Winona Ryder and Scott Peterson.

UPDATE 11:42 PM EST: TMZ has learned Chris paid his bail and was released.

Chris Brown Cops Plea – No Jail Time

* Chris Brown has copped a plea in his assault case. He won’t do jail time, but he will spend 6 months doing things like road cleanup.
* Brown also was ordered to stay at least 50 yards away from Rihanna – except at industry events, when it’s 10 yards – despite a request from Rihanna’s lawyer that the pair be allowed in the same place at the same time.

* He’ll spend 180 days doing hard labor in Virginia which is where Brown lives – it’s equivalent to Caltrans or graffiti cleanup. (8 hours a day — 1440 hours total)

* He gets 5 years probation for FELONY assault — he pled guilty. He’ll get supervised probation. He’ll have to come back to court every three months.

* He must enroll in a domestic violence counseling program.

* Judge said if Brown and Rihanna are at the same public events, the 50-yard stay away turns into 10 yards. The stay away order lasts 5 years.
* They can’t contact each other at all!

* The judge said she wanted to make sure that Chris Brown “was treated as any other person who comes through this court.”

* If Brown violates probation, he could get up to 4 years in prison.

* Rihanna is in the courthouse but never entered the courtroom.

* Brown is now a convicted felon and loses the right to vote or carry a gun.

* Brown left the courtroom … just after he left, Rihanna walked in the courtroom. The judge is now explaining the deal to her. The judge is telling Rihanna about the protective order.

Brown, wearing gray suit, off-white tie, and matching handkerchief in front pocket, entered the courtroom shortly after 1:30 p.m. About 10 of his friends and family, including his mother, were seated in the audience.

After the judge addressed him, Brown left the courtroom and Rihanna, wearing a black dress and pearls, was brought in for the judge to explain the plea deal terms to the singer. The two were never in the courtroom at the same time.

Rihanna takes CONTROL over her new ROCK album!

Rihanna's biggest French fan site RihannaDiva claims to have some new information regarding the 21-year-olds new album that was given to them by label Def Jam. Check out some of the info below, and remember that it's been translated from French that's why the structure is a little funny.

Among the army of co-workers, we shall quote for example the famous leader of the group One Republic, Ryan Tedder, who composed two songs for Rihanna, among one completely played by a piano, Kanye West, Justin Timberlake, Soulja Boy, Shontelle, Jay-Z, Pharell Williams, and many others…

Rihanna has never been so selective and perfectionist in the choice of songs and in their interpretation. She participates actively in the writing of the lyrics and in the selection of the instrumental atmospheres.

The album will be more rock’n'roll than the previous, “Good Girl Gone Bad”, and a bit more pop, but will keep the R&B.

It is evident that Rihanna wishes to be recognized as being a mature woman who imposes, at the same time that she shows her own musical style and her own originality. Rihanna likes her image of trendsetter and now wishes to use it in her songs.

Rihanna told the officer she got into an argument with Chris Brown over something that had occurred at an event they were at earlier in the evening.

"The victim said she became enraged and slammed both of her fists against the dashboard on the passenger side of the car they were in. She reported that the defendant then pulled the vehicle over and reached over her with his right hand. He opened the car door and tried to force the victim out."

According to the report, Brown was unable to shove Rihanna out of the car because she was wearing a seatbelt.

The report continues, "When he could not force her to exit, he took his right hand and shoved her head against the passenger window of the car. "

"The victim then faced the defendant and he punched her in the left eye with his right hand. He then continued driving."

"As he drove, he continued to punch the victim in the face with his right hand while steering the vehicle with his left hand."

Rihanna told cops the "assault caused her mouth to fill with blood and blood to splatter over her clothing and the inside of the car."

Rihanna told cops after Brown "stopped his first assault .. she looked in the mirror and saw her eye beginning to swell.

[Brown] looked at [Rihanna] and said 'I'm going to beat the shit out of you when we get home! You wait and see!'"

Rihanna told police she tried to call her personal assistant, but she didn't pick up -- but Rihanna says she "pretended to talk, saying, 'I'm on my way home. Make sure the cops are there when I get there.'"

Rihanna says she pulled the act "because she did not want to get beat anymore."

But after Rihanna's fake phone conversation, she claims Brown "looked at [Rihanna] and said, "You just did the stupidest thing ever! Now I'm really going to kill you!"

Rihanna told cops that Brown unleashed a second wave of punches, "during which time [Rihanna] interlocked her fingers behind her head and brought her elbows forward to protect her face." He continued to punch her on her left arm, which caused a contusion on her left tricep.

At that point Rihanna tried texting her assistant. Brown threw the phone out of the car, stopped the vehicle and Rihanna then tried opening her door to get out, but Brown sped off and the door shut with Rihanna inside.

Brown placed Rihanna in a headlock while he drove, then bit her on her left ear. The car eventually stopped and Rihanna took the keys out of the ignition, and Brown began to punch her again in the face and arms. He placed her in a headlock and started applying pressure to her carotid artery. She couldn't breathe and began to lose consciousness. She tried freeing herself, and Brown bit her left ring and middle fingers and then released her.

Rihanna took off her shoe and tried breaking the passenger window, and he continued to punch her.

Eventually, Brown got out of the car. Rihanna opened the door and continued screaming. Brown began punching her again. He got back in the car and screamed "Where are my f***ing keys?" He got out, looked for the keys in vain, and when he could not find them removed several CDs and walked away.

Officers were called and observed numerous contusions and abrasions to Rihanna's face and forehead, as well as bruising on her left arm. There were other injuries as well.

Investigators determined Brown was wearing a large ring on his right hand which caused several of Rihanna's injuries.

That is all Chris Brown got probation when he's suppose to go to jail for what he did. Arghh.

August 25, 2009 Brown sentenced for Rihanna assault


TMZ.com: Chris Brown was just sentenced to 5 years probation and 6 months hard labor, and the judge threatened Brown by talking about the “chatter” she hears.

Judge Patricia Schnegg said during the sentencing, “I am not immune to the chatter on the airwaves.” It’s unclear if she was saying that she’s heard reports that Brown and Rihanna are still talking … or if she was just saying he needs to be careful because she watches TV and reads TMZ.

Down to business, the judge sentenced Brown to perform hard labor at the Commonwealth Catholic Charities in Richmond, VA, where he must also take a 52-week domestic violence course.

The judge ruled Brown — who pleaded guilty to felony assault — must stay 100 yards away from Rihanna, unless they are both at an entertainment-related event, in which case he must stay 10 yards away. The protective order lasts 5 years.


He must provide DNA samples as requested by authorities.

Brown must also keep in touch with the Probation Department and is subject to search and seizure 24/7 for the next 5 years. He can’t own any dangerous weapons, including guns or knives.

Brown must pay $2,500 in restitution and another $2,500 in probation expenses. He must also pay a $30 criminal conviction fee — BARGAIN! He must also pay $400 that goes into a domestic violence fund.

Brown must get prior approval before leaving the country.

September 3, 2009 New album to be out in November?


You can already pre-order Rihanna’s upcoming album on british Amazon. There is no information about the upcoming LP besides the date – November 16th. We don’t know however if it’s the final date of releasing the album (hopefully). Rihanna is rumoured to release her 1st single in late September! We will keep you informed…

Since MTV confirmed Jay-Z’s performance at this year’s VMAs, all the Rihanna fans thought she would join him on stage to perform “Run This Town”. Well, maybe not: Alicia Keys will join Jay-Z on stage to perform their collaboration “Empire State of Mind”.

And Rihanna did not appear on the list of artists that will attend the awards show.

SRP Music Group website has been updated with the following message:

Rihanna is finishing up recording of her upcoming album, which is slated for a late-Fall release. She will be in the studio with Tricky & theDream, Stargate, Ne-Yo and SRP in the coming weeks.

Nothing we didn’t know already, the only difference is that now the album is slated for a late-Fall release (probably in the end of November).
