Fans of female group SES are in panick mode right now after news broke out that new contract neogotiations between member Eugene and SM have broken down and that she has decided to leave the company. Today on December 19 SM Entertainment released a public statement which stated that Eugene would be leaving for a solo career or whatever other path she chooses and that they would not pursue her anymore for a contract extension. According to SM the current contracts signed by the SES members back in 1997 ends on December 23, 2002. SM representatives have also said that they are currently working on long term deals for Bada and Shoo but that no agreement has been reached yet. A lot of industry insiders have expressed that without long time member Eugene SES should only break up but SM added in their statement, “We have not decided on anything regarding the situation.” There is a chance that if and when Bada and Shoo sign contract extensions that a new member might be introduced to replace Eugene in order to continue the group. But that might not bode well with both Bada and Shoo who instead might look to go at other directions. Bada has been rumored to wanting to go solo while Shoo has been doing TV activities and might also be looking at an acting career. Eugene was the only SES or SM member not to lend her voice for the recently released SM Town Winter album.

The question of couse in everyone’s mind is why? Why is Eugene leaving Kpop’s top girl group and Korea’s “glamour” company in SM Entertainment? Incidentally the same things are being said when JTL left SM a year ago that she wants more freedom and the like. According to rumors she’s supposedly leaving SM to join Park Yong Ha’s entertainment company. Park Yong Ha is the actor she met while shooting the KBS drama “Loving You” back in the summer and whom Eugene had a well publicized romantic relationship ever since. Word is that she has dreams of continuing singing and acting and under the guidance of Park Yong Ha become a top actress in Korea just not under SM which is mostly a music record company.

Bada sign with MP Entertainment.....

Less than a week after former S.E.S member Eugene broke off ties with SM Entertainment, S.E.S's lead vocalist, Bada's (Choi Sunghui) contract negotiations with SM have fallen through.

Bada has signed a lucrative new deal with MP Entertainment for 3 albums, as well as 1 best album. This deal puts Bada as the top paid female solo singer in the Korean music industry. She will be paid 2 billion won (approximately 1.67 million dollars US) for this contract. This is a new record for any contract for female solo artists.

Others comparatively:
Baek Jiyoung and Lee Sora's contracts allow them to make 2 albums, 1 best album, for 1 billion won (approximately 835,000 dollars US)

It's still small compared to Jo Sung Mo's 2 album, 1 best release for 3.6 billion won (approximately 3 million dollars US).

Bada is planning on releasing a solo album early next year and will have a starstudded cast as her production team, including one of the songwriters for Jennifer Lopez.

Jang Donggun, Go Soyoung are managed by MP Entertainment, and Bada plans to use the connections of her new management to release albums in Japan, China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Bada has stated that she will pursue a different flavour of music than S.E.S, rather than soul and R&B, she will project a more mature image as well as genre of music.

With Eugene and Bada both out of SM Entertainment, Shoo is the sole remaining member from S.E.S that will continue her entertainment career with them.

SES's break was planned from 2 years ago

In their first public statements since parting from SM, Bada and Eugene have stated that SES's breakup was not a surprise or shock, and that it had been a promise the three of them had made 2 years ago, after they completed their Japanese music careers. Bada went on further to say that she is upset that people have been placing the blame on Eugene for the break up of SES when that isn't the case at all. No matter if they had stayed with SM or not, SES would not have continued past December 23rd.

"We promised that until the winter of 2002, we would do our best to be the best, and then we'd part ways and explore our own talents."

Eugene commented that she was a bit upset that the news was brought so suddenly to their fans, but she reassured SES fans that all three of them would continue their entertainment careers, and that she is currently fishing for an entertainment company that will help her further in her goals to becoming a better actress. At this time, there are no plans for her to become a solo singer.

SM Entertainment's official press conference regarding this will be on December 24th.

And in futher updates, Bada's new company, MP Entertainment, has never dabbled in the music management business before, so her new album will be their first venture. However, Bada believes in her new company to take her further along in her dreams, as well as allow her musical freedom to pursue and experiment with new styles of music.

There have also been rumours that SES will appear at the KMTV Korean Music Awards. However, there has been nothing on the official SES schedule page, and the reporting newspaper also stated that JTL and GOD would be appearing, which is false, due to the fact that GOD and JTL expressly stated they would not be doing television appearances. Many fans are thinking this to be just a rumour, and believe that while SES is nominated and may win an award, they will not appear.

With no final stage, and the last public performance by the group in October, SES's breakup has left fans with bittersweet memories and unsure feelings of how to proceed. Many fans have expressed their hopes to support each individual member in their own endeavours, however time will only tell as to how successfully each former SES member will keep her popularity.

SES fans bash SM Entertainment, MP Ent. news

In the past, S.E.S fans have had many issues with SM, mainly stemming from the fact that while SM seems to be pushing all its other groups and singers, S.E.S usually gets left behind in the dust. Now, SES fans are bashing SM Entertainment for their press releases calling Shoo, the only remaining member of S.E.S with SM, the only loyal person and the only person who did the right thing. In a recent Sports Seoul news article, Eugene and Bada were called traiters and it seemed that the article writer was blaming both of them for the break up of SES.

There have also been reports from a phone interview with Bada's older brother, that up till the 23rd, Bada had been waiting for some kind of communication or offer from SM, but as she had heard nothing, she continued her negotiations with other entertainment companys, of which MP was one. SM was later quoted as saying they felt betrayed that Bada would go and begin discussions with other companies. SES fans take these comments as SM Entertainment's attempt to divide and cause fights between the fans, much in the same way SM toyed with HOT fans a little over a year ago.

Many SES fans are happy that Bada has gotten out of SM, due to the fact that they don't believe SM gave the group enough credit. However that happiness is clouded by SM's behaviour with their past singers now in the group JTL, and their threat of pulling their singers out of most of televisions popular shows if JTL is allowed to perform, and many are afraid that SM's heavy hand will prohibit Bada from promoting her album freely.

Okay it's about Eugene. She's eighteen and she's graduating from high school soon so her boyfriend Park Yong Ha takes her and some friends (Bae Yong Jun, Song Hye Gyo, Eugene, Park Yong Ha) out for a drink. After two hours of partying, they decide to come leave the bar. Bae Yong Jun who is drunk insists on driving. Eugene is supporting Hyo Gyo who is nearly passed out and can't really do anything much about getting the keys into her hands. Yong Ha who is also drunk, decides to walk come instead and leaves them there. So Eugene just wants to get Hyo Gyo home so she gets into the car with everyone else.

But unfortunately, they get into a car accident. Yong Jun broke both his legs, Hye Gyo broke her left arm, and Eugene took a serious knock to the head. After two weeks of being in a short coma, Eugene recovers well . . . but . . . she recovers as a totally different person. Everything about her life has been erased from her memory. She doesn't remember who she is, where she lives, etc. Yong Ha who feels respondsible for the accident stays by her side all the time and does everything he can to help her remember who she is.

Eugene is told that she has a younger sister, that Yong Ha and her have been going together for six months, that her best friend is Hye Gyo, and other stuff. Eugene denies everything. She knows she isn't crazy but she feels she is because she remembers other things. Things from her past life. (refering to my fanfic Love Suicide) She can suddenly play the piano even tho she has never had lessons, at school her studies are above level since she was a sophomore in college in her past life. All these different things come back to her and she knows it's true but everyone else keeps telling her it's all because of the accident and that she can't think straight.

So one day, Yong Ha takes her to the park. He and Eugene are just sitting around trying to regain her memory when he sees Hyo Gyo jogging by and excuses himself to go talk to her. Eugene is left alone on the bench and as she is just looking around, she sees . . . Kangta. All of a sudden she gets a terrible headache and these visions of her past life flash before her eyes. She suddenly rememebers everything about her past life and remembers who Kanga is.

Eugene walks over to Kangta and just says, "Kangta?" He looks up at her and goes, "Yes. Excuse me, may I help you?" And than Eugene goes, "Kangta it's me . . . don't you remember?" Than taya goes, "Ummm . . . I'm sorry miss but I've never seen you before in my life." But then he looks deeper into her eyes and all of a sudden he just goes , "Eugene?"

::STOP!!! Sounds perfect huh? Two past lovers meet again in another life, but here's the catch! Kangta is now forty something years old. Eugene has already died and been reborn, only to get into that car accident and remember her past life being deeply in love with Kangta::

And so just when Kangta says her name, Yong Ha returns and goes, "What's going on?" And than Kangta looks at him and goes, "Nothing. This friendly young lady here just found some time to chat with this lonely old man." Than as Yong Ha and Eugene walk off, he puts his arm around Eugene's shoulder. Kangta stands up to look after them as all these thoughts come into his head; he just can't believe what's happening.

So than the following day Eugene can't stop thinking about Kangta. She doesn't love Yong Ha like before the accident and seems distant to everyone else. She goes to the park again by herself and finds Kangta there again so she goes up to him and talk for a little bit. But then Yong ha drives by and tells her to come and he'll take her home so to not make anyone suspicious, she goes.

After that, Eugene can't find Kangta anymore. Than it's just 2 chapters of her lookin for taya. And than when she finally finds him, he is watering his flowers in his garden. She runs up to him and just huggs him from behind. Kangta looks down at her arms and cries because he knows he loves her so much but he knows they can't be together. Eugene yells sat him for running away from her but than she calms down and they talk about what had happened since she had been reborn. Kangta and Hyori got divorced and she took his son so he never saw him again. He knows he has alot to regret by not marrying Eugene and ruining his whole life living all alone. Than after that they start spending time together and Kangta and her fall in love all over again. One time taya hears the piano playing and when he goes downstairs to see it, it is eugene so they sit together and play.They go to the park and go find that tree they carved their names onto when they were little kids in Eugene's past life. But one day when he is at a store, he over hears Yong Ha talking to Yong Jun about how much he loves Eugene and what he would give to have her back to herself again. Kangta realizes he and Eugene can't be together anymore.

Eugene comes over and this time Kangta doesn't greet her like before. He tells her that they are two different people now and they can't be together by trying to relive and correct their past lives. He tells her that Yong Ha loves her and she should go back to him and that they have different lives now too. Eugene refuses and agrues that she doesn't love Yong Ha and loves Kangta only and stuff. She knows they belong together or why else would she suddenly remember everything and find Kangta again. Kangta and her keep arguing and she runs off. He is broken hearted because he does love her and wants her to be his but he knows it's best that she moves on and don't waste her time on him; since he is too old anyways.

Eugene goes to the park again and sits at the bench crying, not knowing Kangta had followed. Park Yong Ha sees her and walks to her but before he reaches her, a kid hits a baseball her way and it clunks Eugene on the head real hard. She falls to the ground, unconcious. Yong Ha takes her too the hospital and ya kno . . . she remembers him blah blah blah . . . she forgets everything that has happened between Kangta and her.

Than on Eugene and Yong Ha's wedding day, Kangta bumps into them. He is so caught up in his thoughts about Eugene that he doesn't see them. He quickly apologizes and realizes that it's Eugene. He doesn't say anything and just stares. Than Eugene goes, "You look familier . . . have we met before?" And than Kangta goes, "Maybe we knew each other in another life . . ." And than she says, "Yeah maybe we did." Than Yong Ha and her walk off. Kangta calls after her, "Eugene . . . thankyou." (refering to love suicide when eugene gave him her heart and she died) Eugene goes blank and says, "Uhh . . . you're welcome." And as he walks away he whipsers, "Maybe someday . . . we'll be together at last." The end.

Move over BoA, here comes Shoo. With her fluency in Japanese, English, and Korean, SM Entertainment is doing everything in its power to push Shoo to the top of the world. She is currently taking lessons in Chinese (Mandarin), and with all four languages under her belt (far more fluent than BoA in all of them but Korean), will be able to attempt to break into the entertainment business in four countries. Besides Korea, Japan, and China, SM is planning an aggressive campaign to get Shoo into Hollywood in their long undergoing 'International Project'. Bada and Shoo were interviewed by KBS Yunae Gahjoonggae concerning the break up of S.E.S.


The show will air on December 28th at 8:50PM on KBS2

On the 21st, while recording SBS's Beautiful Sunday, Shoo and Shim Eunjin made startling confessions regarding their first kiss. The first person to confess was Baby VOX's Shim Eunjin. She said her first kiss was with another male entertainer. "A hundred days after I met him, we held an anniversary party, and that was when we first kissed."

The program MC's Kang Hodong and Lee Hyukjae begged Shim Eunjin to tell who this person was, but to no avail.

When asked what the proper time period before kissing a guy was, Shim Eunjin replied that if I feel that it is fate (basically love at first sight), it's ok to kiss even when you first meet someone.

Like Shim Eunjin, Shoo also revealed when and where her first kiss took place -- "middle school second year (eighth grade), there was nowhere to go, so we ended up kissing in front of someone else's door."

After Eunjin and Shoo's confessions, Click-B's Kim Sanghyuk also revealed that he once kissed a girl just two hours after meeting her.

Shoo is currently preparing for her solo debut, not only in Korea, but also in foreign markets such as Japan and China. Shim Eunjin is still working with Baby VOX preparing for their return to the music scene early next year.

After her first drama, former S.E.S member Kim Yoojin has been nominated for the best newcomer award for KBS's Actors Award.


One of her competitors includes fellow cast member Lee Yuri, who's diabolical portrayal of Jo Sookyung had many of Loving You's watchers shaking their heads in disgust at how evil Sookyung was. To the point that some grandmothers who watched the show would yell at Lee Yuri if they saw her on the streets.


The KBS Actor's Award will occur at the end of December.

Beside that si Shoo memang selama ini dah nyoba bidang2 lain kan yg masih dalam dunia entertainment.

Bada's first solo album will be released in both Japan and Korea, around May or June of next year. She will be working with Shimano Satoshi, the original songwriter for Yume wo Kasanete (Just in Love), as well as J.Lo's producer and songwriters. MP Entertainment has expressed its desires to create Bada into the top Asian female star, and will aggressively market her in Japan, Korea, China (and Hong Kong), and Taiwan. They are already planning a concert for her in Shibuya Concert Hall. The music style she plans to pursue is Korean and Asian flavoured R&B music.


Recently in an interview on KBS2's Yunaegahjoong-gae, Bada said "We made a promise 2 years ago to go our own ways now. While it's sad we will not be working together anymore, the friendship and love that grew over five years will be forever. We promised that after 2 years, we'd do what we wanted and then meet each other again at the top (best) of our chosen paths."

In just a few hours, the KBS and SBS Acting Awards will take place. It's been a well-known fact that SES's Yoojin is up for awards for best newcomer and most popular for the KBS awards, however it comes to a surprise that she is also up for best newcomer in the SBS Acting Awards, considering SM's (Yoojin's previous managing company) not so hot relations with SBS (Lee Hoyun, the president of DSP sits on the board of directors for SBS). However, Yoojin has already stated that she will only go to the KBS awards show.
