THE DAY THE BASS PLAYERS TOOK OVER THE WORLD
By Emily Kaitz with Dave Pomeroy
The change was subtle, and the mood was low key
The sky was overcast, you couldn’t hardly see
But the creatures all slid down to a slower frequency
The day the bass players took over the world
They came pourin’ out of symphonies, orchestras, and bands
And every other kind of combo ever known to man
And although it was spontaneous, you’d think it was planned
The day the bass players took over the world
One day the bass players decided to uprise
We were tired of bein’ sidemen to all those other guys
So we kidnapped the horn sections
Spiked the drummers drinks
And tied up the guitar players
With them big ol’ flatwound strings
One day the bass players decided to uprise
We were tired of being stepped on by all this techno-jive
So we erased the memories of all those drum machines
And locked away the keyboards, and those sampling things
And so the world was finally set free
The animals all hung out and interacted fretlessly
And the air began to vibrate with such a deep tonality
