The Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix Reloaded – It has been 4 long years since the first Matrix film came out and changed the world of movies. With that much time passed, I and other cult followers of the film are really ready for the sequel this summer. Unlike the Star Wars movies, the plot of this film has been kept almost totally under wraps and I’m glad for it. I want to go into this one cold. However, word is that it features more of the same intrigue and action from the first film, the best car chase of all time, and a cliffhanger ending so powerful that they have to have the sequel a few short months later before fanboys riot. It also has new groundbreaking effects that have yet to be unveiled. This one has everything I’m looking for in a movie and it promises to be the Empire Strikes Back of the Matrix trilogy.


The Matrix Revolution

The Matrix Revolutions – If Matrix Reloaded is a hit, then you can expect the sequel to be one too, especially since it comes out a few short months later. It will pick up where the cliffhanger ending of the last movie left off. That alone should draw people in. Again, the plot is still under wraps, but the word is that it features the final conflict between man and machines and should be a rather tremendous battle. That’s what I love to see in a summer movie.

November 01, 2002 - Yesterday, we pointed you to a number of character-themed teaser posters for The Matrix Reloaded. Neo, Trinity, Morpheus, Agent Smith, The Twins, and Niobe all have their own posters. And now, a new character has been added to the mix: Persephone.

[b] Persephone is played by Italian model-turned-actress Monica Bellucci. Bellucci's previous big-screen credits include Brotherhood of the Wolf, Malena, and Asterix & Obelix. She will appear in both Matrix sequels, and her other upcoming projects are Bruce Willis' Man of War and Mel Gibson's The Passion.

While Bellucci's character is mostly shrouded in mystery, rumor has it that she is the wife of a very powerful person within the Matrix. The tempting character has been described as "Adam and Eve's apple."

Matrix Twins Revealed

The Rayment brothers share some of the story behind their characters.

October 03, 2002 - The Wachowski brothers are opening up the throttle on their highly awaited Matrix sequels. The upcoming cyberpunk flicks are raising the bar for Hollywood action cinema, and the cool Matrix story is being supplemented with both new heroes and new villains.

Fans have been particularly curious about the albino twins that have been appearing in set reports and photos. The duo sport silver hair, silver jackets, mirrored glasses and a really bad attitude. The Matrix Online has the scoop on these super-villains from a British film magazine, which was able to speak with twin actors Neil and Adrian Rayment.

It turns out, the enigmatic baddies' names in the new Matrix films are simply Twin 1 and Twin 2. They are "deleted programs" in the Matrix, but for some reason they are able to roam the vast network as free entities, loose guns that pursue their own ambitions and use their powers to modify the Matrix. They live the flamboyant lifestyle of a rock star, free from the restrictions of normal people trapped in the virtual world. They wear flashy clothes, drive expensive cars, and speak with crisp British accents.

The Rayments revealed that their characters have major fight scenes with the rebels, including scraps with Morpheus, Trinity, and Neo himself. One incredible scene will have both the Twins pitted in an acrobatic swordfight against Neo, using special sabres that have rotating blades.

The twins also mentioned a high-energy chase sequence that has Trinity and Morpheus jumping from exploding vehicles with the cool bullet-time effect as they flee from the Agents of the Matrix. New techniques employed by the Wachowskis will let the camera view pan through the exploding car windows and across the set in slow motion.

NIOBE: GREEK MYTHOLOGY

Remember the scoop that originally appeared on AICN about the new character of "Niobe" slated to debut in Matrix 2? We all know now that the Wachowskis carefully selected the character names from the first Matrix so they could have hidden meanings (Morpheus being the god of sleep from Greek legends, Neo meaning "new" as well as a anagram of "one").

One matrix fan put two and two together and researched what the name Niobe meant in literature...and their effort might have uncovered this new character's background. How much of the original Niobe might wind up in the sequel?

"I was brushing up on some Greek mythology when, lo and behold, the name 'Niobe' turned up. Here's a condensed version of her tale: Leto, mother of Artemis and Apollo, commands the women of Thebes to make sacrifices and honor her. This doesn't go over too well with Niobe, because she thinks she's better than than the goddess. She comes along, decked out in rich, fancy clothes and the like, and tells everyone she's better than Leto due to her lineage and 14 children. The townfolks forget Leto and sacrifice to Niobe. That makes for a pissed off goddess. So she sends Apollo to kill Niobe's kids. Apollo wins, 14-0. Suddenly Niobe goes from something to nothing, and turns to stone, literally, from her grief. She stands high on a mountaintop, forever weeping as a statue of marble...

Just thought that might help with how the character ends up. Maybe she upset the Matrix/Zion, and they end up killing her kids?"

Cine Live did an article on The Matrix Reloaded and they provided a few new details on the things we'll see in the film. AICN reports:

- The bad guy played by Collin Chou is called Seraph.

- Monica Bellucci's character is called Persefone, "an evil temptress" according to Joel Silver.

- Lambert Wilson, a french actor, plays Monica Bellucci's husband and above all, the role of the king of the virtual world. One of his capacity is notably to program himself in the language he wants

Are you ready to enter 'The Matrix' again? 'The Matrix Reloaded' explodes into theaters May 15, along with a groundbreaking video game and visionary collection of animated short films on DVD. So, how do all these pieces fit together into the entire trilogy? ET has the scoop -- and more incredible behind-the-scenes footage!

"This really is the first story that's being told in multiple mediums," says blockbuster producer JOEL SILVER. "When we started to create the 'Animatrix,' [directors LARRY and ANDY WACHOWSKI] had this idea of doing a very intense story that would set up the through line of 'Reloaded' and 'Revolutions,' so essentially it would be 'Matrix' 1.5 before you get to 2."

After the release of 'The Matrix,' Silver went to Japan for a press junket with the Wachowskis in 1999. There, the brothers met with some high-end animé directors who would bring their own style and ideas to the new 'Animatrix' project.

"I remember on the plane ride back Larry sat down with a yellow pad and kind of mapped out this scheme where we would have the movie and the video game and these animated stories and how they would all interact together," explains Silver.

The brothers wrote four of the nine animated 'Animatrix' episodes and collaborated with the directors on the other stories. They then wrote the video game, "Enter the Matrix," which has a storyline that directly relates to one of the key 'Animatrix' films, 'The Final Flight of the Osiris.'

"In the video game there's certain information from the [interstitial] footage that you don't get from the movie," says JADA PINKETT SMITH, who stars as Niobe in the game and sequels.

As for the long-awaited sequels to 'The Matrix,' the master plan was to shoot them back-to-back as one giant movie in two parts, 'The Matrix Reloaded' and 'The Matrix Revolutions,' then release them only months apart, in May and November of 2003.

"The way that [the filmmakers] tell a story, the physical action that they create, the elements of new cinema and technologies to create images are unparalleled," says KEANU REEVES, a.k.a. Neo. "'The Matrix' was an undertaking. This is a super undertaking."

"It's very rare that you get to merge what you do with what you believe in," says series star CARRIE-ANNE MOSS, who plays Trinity. "With 'The Matrix,' we had a life-changing experience making it, and when you have that kind of experience, we had to come back."

"'Reloaded' is going to be unstoppably watchable," adds LAURENCE FISHBURNE, who plays Morpheus. "There are things in 'Reloaded' that nobody's ever seen before."

'The Matrix Reloaded' hits theaters May 15, followed by the 'Animatrix' DVD in stores June 3. "Enter The Matrix" will be released to coincide with the 'Reloaded' debut, while 'The Matrix Revolutions' caps the trilogy in theaters this November.

sejujurnya, adegan Neo bertemu dengan The Architect itu bener2 lewat dah dikepala gue.... ngomongnya ruwet abis, gua acungin jempol deh actor yg maenin The Architect itu... ;D

filmnya menurut gue agak terlalu bertele2, dan adegan2 kungfunya terlalu banyak, setelah ngeliat 17 adegan kungfu jadi nggak berkesan lagi....

freeway chase scene, hands down the best action sequence of the year, dan Burly Brawl, best visual effects sequence ::up::

I like this film, and can't wait to see it again :)

plotnya cuman itu wae.... tapi dengan dialog yg ngalor ngidul dan filosofi yg dalem, dan juga action scene yg kadangkala berasa kepanjangan,... filmnya jadi panjang deh....

tanggal 15 Mei yg lalu di Cannes, rombongan Matrix Reloaded melakukan konperensi pers, promosi film itu. Semua hadir, cuma sayang Wachoiski bersaudara nggak bisa hadir, sebab lagi sibuk ngedit Matrix Revolution.

Menurut sang produser, alasan mengedarkan Matrix Revolution dalam tahun yg sama (November mendatang), soalnya supaya penonton bisa dipuaskan dgn ceritanya. Karena dlm Matrix Reloaded, endingnya ngeggantung.

Malahan rencananya Matrix Reloaded dan Revolution bakal diedarin bareng di musim panas ini!!
Tapi karena alasan teknis saja, akhirnya peredaran berbarengan itu dibatalin.

dari segi komersial, Matrix Reloaded mengalahkan Box Office terbesar tahun lalu, Spider-man!

dalam waktu 4 hari pemutaran di AS minggu ini (tgl 18 Mei), berhasil mengumpulkan 135 juta USD. 10 juta lebih tinggi dibanding Spider-man dalam waktu yg sama.

Padahal Matrix masuk kategori film "R", alias dewasa, dan Spider-man termasuk PG-13, yg memang lebih membuka peluang utk ditonton semua umur.

A rollercoaster ride from start to finish is probably the best thing to describe 'The Matrix Reloaded'. It is one of those sequels that comes close to the original, not only because it really is almost as good, but because you are overwhelmed by what you see on the screen. 'X2' did a pretty good job earlier this year and another good example is 'Terminator 2: Judgement Day'. Yes, the things you see on the screen...

We left 'The Matrix' with Neo as The One, ready to start the war to free all human slaves. He has learned how to fly, which sounds a little stupid but is brought pretty convincing.

He is having dreams about Trinity set in the future, where she is shot. Neo, Morpheus, Trinity and some new crew members arrive in Zion, the last human city. Morpheus has a speech there and after that they party. The party is the first great sequence. Sentinels are digging to Zion so things must be done. Morpheus thinks Neo is the answer but not everyone believes in the prophecy so there is some resistance. Neo has to see the Oracle to know more about what to chose, and there we see the second great sequence, probably the best action sequence I have ever seen. Updates of Agent Smith attack Neo and of course he fights back.

I will not reveal more of the story but the last great sequence is a freeway chase, and that is probably the second best action sequence I have ever seen. Between those great sequences we have some scenes with action or romance, and some very funny moments as well. No, you will definitely not be bored once.

If you only want to see sci-fi action 'The Matrix Reloaded' is as good as it gets. Personally I think it looks even better than 'The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers' and we know how that looked. Unfortunately I don't want only sci-fi action. Of course I enjoyed but sometimes the Wachowski Brothers take things a little too far. There is one scene in particular, you will know which one I mean. And although the story is good with a complicated one like this there have to be flaws and there are. It didn't bother much for me, but I can understand if it does for you.

'The Matrix' was new on a lot of levels, unfortunately things can't be new twice. So 'The Matrix Reloaded' just uses the new things and multiply the action by ten, and it works for most part. One last thing. It is always said that the writers meant it to be a trilogy. 'The Matrix' ends and if there is a sequel or not, you can feel satisfied as a watcher because the film has a real ending. To me it seemed a little that it was not sure if those sequels would ever be made. 'The Matrix Reloaded' has sequel written all over it and so it ends without a real ending. Again, it didn't bother me much but those are little things.

'The Matrix Reloaded' as just eye candy and sci-fi adventure is better than the original. As you watch it for the whole movie it comes close but then the original is better. Anyway, if you liked the first you will enjoy this one as well.

May 19, 2003 — Move over Spidey. Box Office Mojo reports that The Matrix Reloaded has beaten Spider-Man's four-day box office record, earning an estimated $135.9 million and eclipsing Spider-Man's $125.9 million.

"We were well into the 80% range for 'want-to-see' and in the 70% range for 'definite recommend' across the board," Warner Bros.' executive VP and general sales manager of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein told Box Office Mojo of the audience reaction. "It's exactly what you want to see for a movie like this."

Among its several records, the cyber-sequel set a new benchmark for an R-rated just like another "man vs. machine" movie 'Terminator 2' did 12 years ago as history repeats itself...

Combined with an estimated $135.8 million from the first four days of its North American release, the worldwide total for "Reloaded" stands at an estimated $167.7 million.

"The initial results from our first wave of international releases are nothing short of fantastic, and we are looking forward to enormous numbers next weekend, when we launch in 48 more countries," Veronika Kwan-Rubinek, Warners president of international theatrical distribution, said Sunday.

Wachowskis--Wacko or Crazy Like Foxes? This week, everyone's talking about The Matrix Reloaded. Well, except for two guys--writer-directors Andy and Larry Wachowski.

You see, they don't do press. And not the way most A-list stars "don't do press" these days. Which means they don't do radio, print or online outlets, just TV. (Which really means they do ET, Access Hollywood, Vanity Fair, the New York Times and USA Today.) The Wachowski brothers don't talk at all.

Carrie-Anne Moss tries to explain:
"They want the audience to think for themselves. They're so smart, and they know what they want frame for frame. They ask a lot of you, and you're honored to give them everything you can. I love them."

Fair enough, I guess. After all, Keanu Reeves doesn't do stunts. No crashing into walls or floor for him.

"This one was much harder," Reeves says. "It took more time. It demanded a lot more. In the first one, I could do most of it. But [this time], it was harder to get, harder to do and harder to come back. Some days, you'd finish a fight and then get new choreography and fighting on weekends, so that you could film on Tuesday." He says he got through it with a little help from...a bottle of Macallan. "Some Fridays, when you would finish work, a glass of Scotch after some filming and fightin' is really good," he says. "It's like that beer after you've been liftin' s--t. Like, yeah."

Matrix Infirmary Blues:

Even before filming started on Reloaded and Revolutions (the second sequel, due in November), Moss famously broke her leg while training in a studio up in San Francisco, putting her out of action for eight weeks.

Costar Hugo Weaving (Agent Smith) dislocated a disc in his neck and had to pull out of a lot of his own stunt work.

And although Jada Pinkett Smith worked up to bench-pressing 190, she blew out her shoulder.

Laurence Fishburne only hyperextended his wrist.

And Keanu? Not a scratch.

Credits Check:
If you haven't heard already, movie fans--because you're avoiding that spoiler-filled Time article--you'll want to stay through Reloaded's credits to see clips of Revolutions, but it may not give you much insight into the trilogy's final installment.

There are only flashes of scenes and lots of rain. Maybe Fishburne offers more of a clue when he says, "The first movie is about birth, the second is about life and the third is about death." Intrigued?

Freaky Fun Fact:
In 1993, Moss starred as Liz Steel in a short-lived TV series titled Matrix, which followed an eponymously named hit man who found himself on the wrong end of a hit. Eerie, huh?

Tank vs. "Matrix" Machine

Tank will not be bulldozed.

At least that's the message delivered in a lawsuit filed by the actor who helped save Keanu Reeves' holy butt in the first Matrix movie.

In the suit, Marcus Chong, best known to sci-fi fans as the driving force that was Tank, claims he was "blackball[ed]" and branded a "terrorist" by producers after his character was derailed from the sequels, according Los Angeles' City News Service.

Warner Bros. and the writing-directing Wachowski Brothers' Eon Productions are among the named defendants, per the wire service.

Chong's lawsuit, alleging breach of contract, slander and fraud, seeks the six figures he says he would have banked from the two new flicks, plus interest and other unspecified damages.

The Tank-less Matrix Reloaded drove home with $91.8 million last weekend, the second biggest three-day opening ever. The Matrix Revolutions, the trilogy's concluding chapter, is scheduled to start turning in November. Like its predecessor, Revolutions will not feature Tank, or Chong.

In Reloaded, newbie Zee (Nona Gay), Tank's sister, explains Tank's absence by saying he died during a mission on the Nebuchadnezzar. Link (Harold Perrineau), intro'd as Zee's hubby/Tank's brother-in-law, is at the controls of Morpheus' ship for the sequels.

In the original 1999 flick, Tank's Chong stood alongside Reeves' Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss' Trinity and Morpheus' Laurence Fishburne as the only humans to outlast, outplay and outwit their machine nemeses.

It's not clear why the actor, the 35-year-old adopted son of recently smoked-out comedian Tommy Chong, did not return for the sequels. In previous reports about the Link-for-Tank move, neither Warners nor Chong commented on his absence.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Chong copped to crashing a press junket, snatching food from production offices and crank-yanking the Wachowskis. All of this bad behavior, though, came after Chong had already been unloaded from Reloaded.

As to what got him unloaded in the first place? Warners isn't commenting on the lawsuit. Calls to Chong's attorney and the Wachowskis' Eon Entertainment were not immediately returned Monday.

In documents posted on the fan site, the Marcus Chong as Tank Coalition (boycottthematrix.com), a grassroots Web campaign protesting the actor's franchise freeze out, the dispute is shown to have centered on money. The site credits yet another pro-Chong site, the We Want Tank Coalition (www.geocities.com/wwtcoalition), with originally obtaining the material.

In an undated letter reputedly from Chong to Andy and Larry Wachowski, a string of deep-sounding, but vague thoughts ("Why suggest that either my faiths of anarchy must be chosen or my goals for profit."), give way to a bottom line: An offer of $250,000 for the two sequels is unacceptable. Either the studio will meet his price ($500,000, plus bonuses and guarantees he'll be invited to press junkets and premieres)...or he'll do the movies for free.

"I will do it for free because I love our project and want to protect the role and the integrity of the brothers' vision," Chong reputedly wrote.

In an October 2000 letter reputedly from the Wachowskis to Chong, the siblings, hailed as "mighty knights [who] shall truly break into Valhalla," in the Chong missive, say they understand the actor's stance, but think "it is in the best interest of all parties to move on."

In the aftermath, Chong's lawsuit claims producers "conspired to blackball [Chong] from further professional acting work in Hollywood and took efforts to defame [him]," City News Service reported.

An actor since childhood, Chong recently began work on his first post-Matrix flick, The Crow: Wicked Prayer.

The efforts of the two-year-old Marcus Chong as Tank Coalition, meanwhile, continue--even if both sequels are shot, in the can, and, in the case of Reloaded, in theaters. Webmaster Kira Jones says the group's letter-writing campaign will endure at least through the release of Revolutions.

"Aside from the fact that he's really cute, one of the things we really like about Tank is that we could really identify with him...We're all geeks, for lack of a better word," says Jones, a programmer. "I think Tank kind of represents [us]--he was the one who made things happen."

Neo (Keanu) adalah seorang hacker di dunia "nyata" yg sekarang kita berada.
Ternyata dunia ini adalah tipuan belaka, yg diciptakan oleh mesin, komputer dan teknologi, dunia ilusi yg disebut "The Matrix". Teknologi memanfaatkan energi dan pikiran manusia untuk menghidupi mesin dan komputer; sementara sebagai gantinya, pikiran manusia dimanipulasi dgn kehidupan yg ada sekarang ini.
Terus ada sekelompok manusia yg bergerilya utk membebaskan manusia dr jajahan komputer dan teknologi itu, dibawah sang jenderal Morpheus (Fishburn) dan Trinity (Carrie Anne Mosse).

Neo baru sadar apa itu Matrix setelah dia "dibebasin" oleh Morpheus (inget adegan Keanu nyentuh kaca terus berubah jadi lumer, adegan dia minum pil biru,dll). Neo juga harus melalui serangkaian training dan bekal utk melawan teknologi, karena hanya dia, bukan yg lain, yg bisa membebaskan perbudakan manusia.

Neo ternyata adalah "the One", orang terpilih yg akan membebaskan dunia ini.

Sebenernya di film ini termuat ajaran religius loh :)

BeTe nonton midnite MatriX semua tempat full :mad2: padahal 1 bioskop dibuka 2 theater :(

akhirnya ini tadi gwe nonton juga Matrix. gila itu bioskop sampe sediain 6 theater kali buat muter Matrix doank, itupun masih penuh. untung dapet bangku yg enak. bagus sech filmnya, cuman sebelnya bersambung gitu ke matrix 3... pinter bgt akalnya....

Reloaded ceritanya terlalu dipanjang-panjangin. Kalau digabung, pasti deh ceritanya lebih sempurna.

Coba deh, ada byk adegan yg mubazir macam pesta penduduk Zion, kebut-kebutan di jalan tol, pertempuran Neo dgn agent Smith (yg cuma ingin nunjukin SFX), dll.

Jadi cukup satu sequel aja.
Yg kedua ini bikin kesel, ngegantung gitu, dan ceritanya nyaris nggak ada :)

Neo (Keanu) adalah seorang hacker di dunia "nyata" yg sekarang kita berada.
Ternyata dunia ini adalah tipuan belaka, yg diciptakan oleh mesin, komputer dan teknologi, dunia ilusi yg disebut "The Matrix". Teknologi memanfaatkan energi dan pikiran manusia untuk menghidupi mesin dan komputer; sementara sebagai gantinya, pikiran manusia dimanipulasi dgn kehidupan yg ada sekarang ini.
Terus ada sekelompok manusia yg bergerilya utk membebaskan manusia dr jajahan komputer dan teknologi itu, dibawah sang jenderal Morpheus (Fishburn) dan Trinity (Carrie Anne Mosse).

Neo baru sadar apa itu Matrix setelah dia "dibebasin" oleh Morpheus (inget adegan Keanu nyentuh kaca terus berubah jadi lumer, adegan dia minum pil merah,dll). Neo juga harus melalui serangkaian training dan bekal utk melawan teknologi, karena hanya dia, bukan yg lain, yg bisa membebaskan perbudakan manusia.

Neo ternyata adalah "the One", orang terpilih yg akan membebaskan dunia ini.

di Matrix Reloaded, singkatnya gini (SPOILER):

Neo kali ini punya tugas lebih berat, dia harus menyelamatkan Zion (kota terakhir manusia hidup, means dunia nyata). Utk menyelamatkan Zion, dia harus mencari The Keymaster yg disembunyikan oleh program komputer yg lain (Merovingian). the Keymaster akan membawa Zeon ke suatu tempat yg akan menjawab teka-teki yg meliputi The Matrix. Reloaded ceritanya terlalu dipanjang-panjangin. Kalau digabung, pasti deh ceritanya lebih sempurna.

Coba deh, ada byk adegan yg mubazir macam pesta penduduk Zion, kebut-kebutan di jalan tol, pertempuran Neo dgn agent Smith (yg cuma ingin nunjukin SFX), dll.

Jadi cukup satu sequel aja.
Yg kedua ini bikin kesel, ngegantung gitu, dan ceritanya nyaris nggak ada :)

Neo kali ini punya tugas lebih berat, dia harus menyelamatkan Zion (kota terakhir manusia hidup, means dunia nyata). Utk menyelamatkan Zion, dia harus mencari The Keymaster yg disembunyikan oleh program komputer yg lain (Merovingian). the Keymaster akan membawa Zeon ke suatu tempat yg akan menjawab teka-teki yg meliputi The Matrix. Disaat yg sama, Neo juga harus menyelamatkan Trinity yg jiwanya terancam.

kunci dari pertanyaan "What is the Matrix" itu ada pas di Matrix pertama, pas Neo ketemu ama Morpheus untuk pertama kalinya. kita ini bukan hidup di dunia nyata, tapi dunia virtual. Di dunia nyata ini kita semua adalah sumber tenaga bagi bangsa mesin...

kenapa para mesin repot2 bikin dunia virtual? nah kalo ini jawabannya gue nemu dari episod "Second Renaissance"... pas bagian awal2 bangsa manusia dibikin jadi 'batre', mereka semua pada teriak2 kesakitan, makanya buat nenangin kita semua dibikinlah program virtual yg dimasukin langsung ke dalam pikiran kita.

jadi gak ada hubungannya ama dunia paralel atawa multiverse...

yg jelas matrix itu program yg dibuat oleh machines...... kehidupan di matrix itu semua cuman mind manusia yg ada di program Matrix...... jd kehidupan skrg itu sebenernya ga real...... soalnya org2nya waktu dulu perang lawan machines dan kalah jadi manusia dijadiin baterai...... nah biar manusia kluarin gelombang listrik yah dibuat deh program matrix itu seolah2 jadi manusia itu bekerja deh....... utk lebi pastinya loe perlu ntn animatrix yg seri 2nd renaissance....... ato gak loe perlu ntn the matrix berkali2 n dengerin dialognya......

bagi yg ngerti komputer atau teknologi yg beginian banget (IT), pasti ngerti deh ama ceritanya Matrix (terutama dialog 'singkat dan padat'-nya The Architect. gile dah, butuh brp kali ya gua dengerin omongannya die).
disappointed? ngga juga tuh kalo lo memang bener² melakukan yg namanya MENONTON FILM.

TMRel and TMRev tadinya ONE movie. tapi krn takut kepanjangan (4 jam bo) dan bikin bokong penonton pegel jadinya ya dipenggal 2 gitu (ntn LOTR 3 jam aja dah pegel bokong gue). tapi..., kalo seandainya ga di penggal jadi 2, judulnya apaan ya?

Kayaknya kalo gue bilang sih, orang2 yang kecewa ama The Matrix Reloaded ini amat menyalahkan pada ketidakmampuannya mencerna cerita dan filosofi di dalamnya. Padahal kalo dicermati lebih lanjut, sepertinya contoh yang udah disebutkan DarkFigurez sebelumnya, masalah pilihan manusia ini bahkan bisa diangkat menjadi conversation yang menarik [dan juga sulit dimengerti], bahkan udah ada beberapa buku yang mengulas tentang filosofi matrix yang ditawarkan Wachowski bros. Banyak temen2ku yang udah nonton terus berusaha agar temen2 yang laen yang belum nonton untuk gak nonton, dengan alasan ceritanya "jelek"... hey, ini bukannya ceritanya yang jelek, tapi anda yang belum dapat mencerna secara keseluruhan cerita dari Matrix. Selain itu, ini kan cuma "tengah cerita"

Matrix bukan suatu film instan kayak X-Men yang menyuguhkan adegan tanpa kausalitas. Sepertinya kita sudah terbiasa menonton film yang "not need explanation". Action semata sepertinya dirasa sudah cukup, daripada mencerna seluruh isi filmnya. Ini sesuatu yang sudah lama dicekokkan film2 Hollywood. Pas gue ngeliat [lagi] pembuatan Matrix [yang pertama] di TV7, gue baru yakin kalo dari semua kru [ampe produsernya], gak ada sama sekali yang ngerti isi dan jalan ceritanya. Hanya Wachowski bros yang tau. They made movie, they knew it's going to get big hits, but they didn't even know the story! Mungkin bisa dibilang kalo Wachowski bros emang bener2 jenius.

Menurutku The Architect bisa dibilang perwujudan God di film ini. Jika The Architect adalah The Creator, amat tidak masuk akal jika Neo sebagai The One bisa mengalahkan penciptanya. Bagaimana Neo membunuh The Architect jika Neo membutuhkan semua jawaban dari The Architect. Dalam hal ini, The Architect bisa dibilang "maen2" dengan dunia matrix. Dia menciptakan suatu dunia matrix, ketika ia menemukan failure, dia dengan mudah menciptakan suatu skenario untuk menghancurkannya, termasuk dengan hadirnya The One, untuk menciptakan suatu dunia matrix yang lebih baru dan lebih baik, dan ini sudah dilakukan 5 kali [karena Neo adalah yang ke-6].
Ok, The Oracle merupakan suatu program yang "bandel", ia berasal dari dunia matrix yang terawal, mungkin ini yang membuatnya disebut "mother of all matrix", kenyataan bahwa The Architect sebagai The Creator bahkan sejak awal sudah tak mampu mengontrol ciptaannya secara sempurna.

Keymaker sendiri buat gue lebih cenderung sebagai pembuka port daripada sekedar crack atau keygen. Dengan adanya key yang tepat, kita bisa masuk ke dunia yang berbeda, bahkan bisa dibilang gak mungkin. Lorong yang panjang dan di kanan kirinya terdapat pintu merupakan perwujudan "bus" dalam suatu sistem. Dengan kode2 yang tepat, kita bisa memasuki port2 yang diinginkan. Sedangkan Seraph sendiri lebih cenderung bertindak sebagai firewall buat The Oracle.

Mengenai kemampuan Neo di "real world"... uhm, mungkin memang anomali... ah, Neo sendiri merupakan anomali... diharapkan di The Revolutions semua ini bisa terjawab. Sedangkan mengenai kata2 Oracle di spoiler Revolutions, bisa jadi Neo memang sudah setengah manusia dan setengah program. Reprentasi pandangannya kan sudah berupa matrix, bukan lagi citra yang merupakan perwujudan matrix itu sendiri.

Gak tau, mungkin film ini cocok buat orang2 yang berkecimpung di bidang IT, gue n temen2 agak ketawa ketika yang Trinity lakukan untuk masuk ke sistem powerplant adalah cuma masuk ke root dan men-disable semuanya. Sepertinya begitu gampang

Mungkin yang mengecewakan buat gue adalah ketika Neo memilih pintu kiri [rather than "right door"], hanya untuk menyelamatkan Trinity, daripada memasuki Source untuk menyelamatkan Zion, plus kemampuannya untuk "menghidupkan kembali" Trinity. Sepertinya adalah merupakan suatu tipikal superhero yang ego logika-nya tertutup oleh emosinya untuk memilih orang yang dicintainya daripada seluruh umat manusia. Ini mungkin merupakan suatu gambaran bahwa walaupun superhero, he's just human. He has emotion too.

dan neo merupakan akibat dari kesalahan perhitungan komputer tersebut. jadi neo memang akan selalu ada dalam versi matrix manapun.
karena selalu ada neo, maka setiap versi matrix akan selalu hancur. dan matrix yg sekarang adalah matrix yg ke 6.
semua neo yg ada dalam setiap versi matrix, selalu sampai pada tahapan memilih antara trinity atau menyelamatnya zion.

Rupa-rupanya penulis skenario ingin mendekatkan film ini sedekat mungkin pada kenyataan. Meskipun versi nmap yang digunakan dalam film itu berbeda dengan versi aslinya, tetapi prinsip membobolnya sama.

Nmap adalah perangkat lunak ringan berbasis teks, aplikasi ini digunakan untuk memindai jaringan. Dengan nmap dapat diketahui, komputer mana yang aktif dan komputer mana yang kira-kira bisa di eksploitasi.

Tidak cukup sampai disitu, Trinity kemudian mengeksploitasi SSH melalui sistem tersebut. Dengan sebuah aplikasi fiksi bernama SSHNuke, Trinity mengeksploitasi kelemahan yang ada.

SSH adalah aplikasi sungguhan yang bernama SecureShell. Aplikasi ini digunakan untuk manajemen jaringan jarak jauh (remote).

Umumnya, seorang hacker akan selalu bertujuan untuk mengambil alih sistem. Hal itu juga yang kemudian dilakukan Trinity.

Bahkan dalam film tersebut, Trinity mengganti password komputer dengan pasword baru ‘Z1ON1010’. Penggunaan 1 sebagai I adalah salah satu kebiasaan hacker (dalam ejaan mereka: h4xor).

Pembuat Nmap, Fyodor, sangat terpukau dengan digunakannya nmap dalam film Hollywood. Dalam situs Insecure.org, ia menampilkan gambar-gambar adegan saat Trinity menggunakan nmap.

Fyodor punya alasan untuk tersanjung, nampaknya Matrix adalah satu-satunya film Hollywood sampai saat ini yang menggunakan metode pembobolan komputer sungguhan. Film-film sebelumnya, seperti Swordfish atau Hackers, tidak pernah menunjukkan cara sungguhan. Bahkan dalam film-film tersebut selalu ditampilkan sebuah dunia tiga dimensi yang dibesar-besarkan, seakan-akan hacker selalu menghadapi tampilan-tampilan kaya gambar dan penuh warna saat melakukan ‘tugas’nya.

Apakah ini akan mengubah tren film hacker ala Hollywood? Entahlah, yang pasti adegan Matrix ini telah menginspirasikan aktivis seperti Fyodor untuk terus berkarya. Wow!

kalo gak salah the architect ngomong kalo versi pertama matrix itu perfect, gak ada error-nya sama sekali. tapi ketika manusia di plug-in, malah terjadi bencana. maka matrix versi berikutnya di bikin sesuai dengan catatan peradaban manusia sendiri, dengan ditambah program untuk mengerti unsur psikologi manusia *Oracle*. tapi penambahan program itu juga menyebabkan terjadinya anomali tiap waktu tertentu. anomali2 itu yg disebut 'manusia terpilih'.
dan anomali2 itu 'diarahkan' untuk akhirnya bertemu sang arsitek sendiri.
keberadaan Zion pun juga dikontrol oleh sang arsitek.
